Unity of Command II Berlin DLC – Release Date
Unity of Command II will soon receive its 9th DLC: Berlin! A hefty package of content containing two new campaigns!
It’s coming hot on the 24th of October
You are about to finish the job, but first, you will get to experience legendary battles like the end of the Leningrad siege, Korsun Pocket, and Operation Bagration…together with the usual slew of alt-history scenarios, from Yugoslavia, Bulgaria all the way up to the Romanian oil fields.
The beginning of the end
In early 1944, the Soviets squeezed German forces in the Korsun Pocket, a brutal winter encirclement battle and a major victory that chipped away at German strength. They also finally lifted the long Siege of Leningrad in January.
The summer of 1944 saw the massive Operation Bagration, a surprise attack that shattered the German Army Group Center. By the fall, Soviet forces were on the offensive all along the Eastern Front, setting the stage for the final push into Germany in 1945. By February, the Soviets stood on the Oder River, just east of Berlin.
The final assault on Berlin began in mid-April. Soviet troops encircled the city, battling their way through the streets in fierce close-quarters combat. Hitler committed suicide on April 30th, and Berlin fell on May 2nd, marking the fall of Nazi Germany.

Operation Bagration
June 22nd, 1944
Operation Bagration, launched by the Soviet Union from June 22 to August 19, 1944, was a massive military offensive during World War II aimed at liberating Belarus and destroying the German Army Group Centre.
It involved over 2.3 million Soviet troops, supported by thousands of tanks, aircraft, and artillery pieces. The offensive began with a series of feints and diversionary attacks, followed by a main thrust that quickly overwhelmed the German defenses, thanks to superior Soviet planning, deception, and intelligence efforts. The Soviet forces encircled and destroyed numerous German divisions, leading to significant territorial gains and the liberation of key cities such as Minsk.
The operation effectively shattered the German front lines in Eastern Europe and significantly weakened their ability to resist further Soviet advances.
This offensive is considered one of the largest and most successful single operations of the war, paving the way for the Soviet push towards Berlin and contributing significantly to the eventual Allied victory in Europe.
